The American Constitution Spirit Foundation's, National Constitution Plaque Initiative is a non-partisan, nonprofit 501c3 foundation, dedicated to placing the actual original replicas of the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights into schools across America. Initiated in 1986 by President Ronald Reagan, The Bicentennial Commission ordered these replicas to be smelted and etched in bronze for permanent placement in educational institutions.
With financial constraints on schools for basic funding, this Foundation is charged with assisting educational institutions with fund raising material and opportunities for donations and sponsorships from the private sector, foundations, service organizations, and the corporate community.
